Pongo Abelii Orangutan Sumatra
The Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) is the rarest orangutan species. Sumatran orangutans live and are endemic to Sumatra, an island in Indonesia. They are smaller than Bornean orangutans. Infants weigh around 0.5 kilograms at birth. Adult females can grow up to 1.3 meters tall and weigh up to 45 kg. Males can grow up to 1.8 meters tall and weigh up to 120 kg.
